Language Arts: Curriculum is designed to help children demonstrate and promote receptive and expressive language. The program is child-centered with daily opportunities to engage in activities involving language. The activities may be individualized or presented in either large or small groups. The goals for each child are to effectively communicate with others, express ideas, master rules of language, develop an increased vocabulary, and develop ability with letter sounds and to connect the spoken word with the written word.
S.P.I.R.E. Pre reading Program: A multi sensory program based on the process known as phonological awareness. It has been shown to have a very positive effect on the acquisition of reading and spelling. (Junior Kindergarten Program)
Hands on Science: A program which encourages children to process the skills of observing, classifying, cause and effect. Teachers assist children in the classroom and around the neighborhood to predict and carry out experiments through multi sensory and hands on activities.
Developmental Math Enrichment: Children acquire developmentally appropriate skills through a wide variety of hands on materials and methods in order to serve all learning styles. Preschool children develop mathematical concepts through daily activities and routines.
Spanish: A program designed for children to learn a second language through play. Focusing on activities such as songs, games and language activities the children become engaged in play while learning is taking place.
Movement is Fun: A program which promotes health and builds confidence. Children become aware of how their bodies move in relation to other’s in their environment, through movement and music activities.
Fine Arts: Children are offered process oriented art daily. Classes enjoy a professional storyteller. Dance class opportunities are available.
Optimal Gross Motor Experiences: With three play grounds available, children participate in a variety of gross motor, role playing and explorative activities. A well appointed indoor gross motor room is available.
Summer Curriculum: Our program moves outdoors offering a wide variety of physical, cognitive, sensory and water play experiences. A developmentally appropriate water safety and swim program is included three times per week.
Support Services: A variety of support services are available and may consist of developmental screenings, assessments, standardized testing, observations, Service Plans and on-site Speech/Language and Sensory Motor Occupational Therapy.
